Chesterfield, MO – May 15, 2008 - AVMATS marked its 30 years in aviation with an appreciation
party for customers in Kansas City, MO on April 29th. The event was held at the Airline History
Museum at the Kansas City Downtown Airport. Attendees and their families not only had the
opportunity to tour the museum and aircraft but also to meet with former Kansas City Chiefs
football player Louie Aguiar and get a signed football and picture to take home. Pictured below is
John Solito from Waddell & Reed with his two sons and Louie Aguiar. The event is just one of
several that will be held in different cities around the country with the final celebration at
AVMATS’ headquarters at Spirit of St. Louis Airport in Chesterfield, MO.
A.C. “Butch” Giessman formed AVMATS in 1978 as a source for surplus aircraft parts, pioneering
in the concept of purchasing and dismantling airworthy and undamaged corporate aircraft to support
the existing fleet of Sabreliners. Fueled by overwhelming customer acceptance, the years following
have produced enormous product diversity and geographical expansion.
AVMATS specializes in the repair and maintenance of Falcon, Hawker, Sabreliner and Beechjet
aircraft. They provide airframe and engine services, APU repair/overhaul, interior refurbishments,
avionics installation, instruments, components, and spare parts for the above-mentioned aircraft.
AVMATS is a recognized Pratt & Whitney JT12 and JT15D, General Electric CJ610/CF700 engine
overhaul facility and a Honeywell Authorized TFE731 and APU Line Service Center.
In addition, AVMATS is a major subcontractor to the US Navy as well as a prime contractor to the
US Army and US Coast Guard. They also do work for Mexican and South American military and
government agencies.
To date, the AVMATS family of companies occupies more than ten acres, at four physical
locations, supporting 46,000 square feet of hangar and attached shops, over 100,000 square feet of
warehouse facilities, 20,000 square feet of dedicated component and accessory overhaul space and
42,000 square feet of engine and APU shop space. At these locations, just over 240 people are
employed. Resources have been dedicated to staffing the shops with industry leading technicians,
skilled and experienced in the repair and overhaul of various engine and flight instruments.
