Welder (Experienced)
Position Description
Fabricating, fitting, and welding materials such as hastelloy X, magnesium, aluminum, stainless, iconel, etc.
Position Summary
This position entails fabrication, assembly, and welding by means of TIG of large and small metal structures and equipment through the use of welders. Must be able to interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts. Use and maintain specialized machinery for industrial welding.
Position Location and Schedule
Full-time, first-shift position at AVMATS Engine Support.

- 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
- Overtime time available as needed
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of work-related experience.
- Experience with TIG welding.
- Ability to weld repair components in flat, vertical, and tubular.
- Ability to assess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errors.
- Have helmet, gloves, and assorted tools to complete work assigned.
- Ability to stand and hold a welding torch for a long period of time.
- Ability to calculate dimensions , have spatial reasoning, and understand 2- and 3-dimensional diagrams.
- Proficient in using the various types of welding machinery, electrical equipment, and manual tools including monitoring machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
- Possess excellent focus and attention to details.
- Ability to follow direction from management.
- Ability to follow and enforce strict safety precautions such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
- Be able to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands/arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds or more unassisted.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Experience or Qualifications
- Valid Certificate in welding from an accredited institution is preferred.
- Willing to learn how to work on Jet Engines when no welding work is needed.
